This information was reported by Opendatabot with reference to the administration of the State Border Service, URA-Inform reports.
According to the source, during the 11 months of 2023, 32.6 million state border crossings took place. This is 1.6 million or 5% more border crossings than during the corresponding period in 2022.
In total, 14 million people returned to Ukraine in less than 2023, and 14.1 million — left the country. The difference between those who left Ukraine and those who returned is less than 1% -142 thousand. We are talking directly about the number of Ukrainians crossing the state border.
For comparison, this is 15 times less than in the first year of a full-scale war. Thus, in 2022, the difference between those who left Ukraine and those who returned was 2.2 million.
According to statistics, if at the beginning of the year Ukrainians left more often than returned, then since July this the trend has changed. The peak of returns in 2023 occurred in April — +114 thousand citizens and as of August — +144 thousand Ukrainians.
Recall that it was previously reported that Ukrainians increasingly want to leave the country: the Ombudsman said, how dire the situation is.
