This information was reported by Patrick Ryder, reports URA-Inform.

The Pentagon has the authority to transfer $4.2 billion in military aid to Ukraine. However, Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder noted that the US Department of Defense cannot transfer funds to a country at war without Congressional approval.

«We have the authority to spend approximately 4.2 billion dollars from existing funds, but we do not have the ability to replenish reserves», — Ryder emphasized.

At the same time, answering a clarifying question, the Pentagon representative added that the funds for the allocation of assistance have been spent. We are talking about the Presidential Arms Transfer Program (PDA), which involves sending weapons from warehouses.

Ryder assured that active work is underway with Congress on this issue. The Pentagon called on politicians to accept the project on additional funding proposed by the White House.

Recall that it was previously reported how many missiles the Ukrainian Armed Forces have left to repel large-scale attacks by the Russian Federation: Naev made an important admission.
