The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent an official note of protest to Nicaragua. Speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko said that the reason for it was the visit of the Russian delegation to this country from temporarily occupied Crimea on January 23.

« In connection with the arrival of the Russian delegation from the temporarily occupied Crimea to Nicaragua, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine submitted a note of protest to the government of this state», — he noted.

According to him, the Ukrainian side lodged a protest on January 31. The Foreign Ministry emphasized that such actions on the part of Nicaragua grossly violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the legislation of Ukraine, as well as international law, in particular the UN Charter.

«The Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol are an integral part of the territory of Ukraine, in relation to which representatives of the Russian occupation administration do not have any legal personality», — emphasized in the ministry.
