The United States began carrying out airstrikes on the territory of Syria and Iraq. On Friday, February 2, they attacked the Al-Haidariya and Al-Shibli areas in the Syrian city of Al-Mayadeen.

The attack was a response to a drone strike on an American base in Jordan on January 28, which killed American troops .

It is reported that the attack was also carried out on Iraqi territory with the help of several aircraft, including bombers. As a result of the attack, more than 85 targets were hit, at which more than 125 precision-guided munitions were fired.

Command centers, intelligence centers, logistics facilities, missile launchers, and drone warehouses came under attack. It is known about an explosion at an ammunition depot in the city of Al-Qaim. US President Joe Biden has confirmed that the strikes on targets in Iraq and Syria that Iran is using to attack US troops were carried out on his orders. He stressed that the response to the attack on the base in Jordan will continue.

«Our response began today. It will continue at any time and place of our choosing», — said the US President.

Recall that it was previously reported that the United States approved striking the territories of 2 countries: a CBS News source said that it is known.
