Zelensky reported this information, URA-Inform reports.
Vladimir Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, outlined the reasons for personnel changes in the leadership of the Ukrainian army. Namely, the dismissal of General Valery Zaluzhny from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the appointment of General Alexander Syrsky instead.
In his evening video message, he noted that a feeling of stagnation in the southern directions and difficulties during the fighting in the Donetsk region was noticed, that has a negative impact on public opinion, reducing optimism about victory.
Commenting on the updates in the army leadership, Zelensky said that he wants the vision of the war to be common among both the fighters on the front line and the General Staff. Candidates for leadership positions in the army are being considered for brigade commanders Andrei Gnatov, Mikhail Drapaty, Vadiim Sukharevsky, Pavel Palisa and Igor Skibyuk.
«This year should become the year when every Ukrainian soldier knows that the Ukrainian army is capable of winning, Zelensky said.
The President is convinced that only effective changes in the Armed Forces of Ukraine can make 2024 a successful year. #187;.
