The Center for Combating Disinformation (CPD), together with the cyber department of the SBU, discovered a large-scale disinformation campaign of the Russian special services to discredit the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky.

This information was reported by the CPD, URA-Inform reports.

According to the head of the Central Operations Center, Lieutenant Andrei Kovalenko, the Russians are trying to impose on the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the image of a «Soviet and Russian» person. To do this, they are looking for his relatives in the Russian Federation, «family friends», from whom they take comments and distribute them in the information space with the appropriate context.

«The main goal of this campaign — discrediting the Commander-in-Chief and reducing trust in the Armed Forces of Ukraine», — Kovalenko notes.

At the same time, the CPD recalls that Syrsky was part of Zaluzhny’s team for a long time. In addition, he commanded successful operations, in particular for the liberation of the Kiev and Kharkov regions.

«They would have been impossible without quality personnel, but much depends on the command. Therefore, Syrsky showed that he knows how to achieve results in the war against the Russian Federation», — noted in the center.

It is also important that Syrsky’s team consists of young commanders who have been promoted. This is a prerequisite for systemic improvements in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, added the Center for Action.

Let us recall that it was previously reported what kind of character Syrsky has: his military colleagues made an important confession.
