Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said that the Pentagon is still finding funds from various programs to continue the exercises of the Ukrainian military in the United States and Europe.
This information was reported by «Voice of America» , reports URA-Inform.
However, according to her, “tough decisions” will soon have to be made.
«We cannot simply turn away from those Ukrainian military personnel who arrive either in Europe or in the United States for training and send them back to war», — she said.
Singh noted that there is money allocated, for example, from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative — long-term security assistance to Ukraine.
«Yes, this is an important mission. There is a combination of different pieces of funding to help support this learning. But if we continue to work without proper funding, our army will incur even greater costs», — Singh said.
At the same time, she said that now is the moment when the army will have to make some tough decisions about where they will get the money from.
«Possibly from other programs. Therefore, now is a difficult time not only for Ukraine, but also for the US Army», — Singh summed up.
We recall that it was previously reported that NATO started talking about sending troops into Ukraine: the Western prime minister made an important statement.
