Chancellor of the Ministry of Defense of Estonia Kusti Salm warned that the situation at the front in Ukraine could worsen.
This information was reported by ERR, URA-Inform reports.
He said that a difficult period in the war is expected until Ukrainian soldiers receive military assistance from the West. However, the Estonian official expressed hope that in the coming months Europe will still provide Ukraine with long-range weapons.
«I think that this day will come in the next couple of months. This will happen when the situation on the Ukrainian front becomes even more difficult, and the signals from overseas will be even stranger. This will be the moment when Europe will actually have to be responsible for its own security», — he emphasized.
At the same time, Kusti Salm also noted that the help of Western countries will not allow Ukraine to “gain balance in the battle for survival,” therefore, in his opinion, difficulties and will continue further.
It is worth noting that on February 22, the Bundestag voted for a recommendation to begin providing Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles. Now the decision is up to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, but the German Chancellor is concerned that such weapons could be used for attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation.
We recall that it was previously reported that the DPRK suspended supplies of ammunition to the Russian Federation: what is known.
