On Sunday, March 24, a Russian missile flew into Polish territory for 39 seconds.

About this information Mieczyslaw Beneka said, URA-Inform reports.

She was flying at an altitude of 400 meters at a speed of 800 km/h. The missile flew 1.5-2 kilometers deep into Poland. During the incident, two pairs of F-16 fighters took off – two Polish and two American aircraft.

Adviser to the Polish Minister of Defense Mieczyslaw Beneka assured that they could shoot down a Russian missile that violated their airspace, provided that it would have flown further – deeper into the country.

«Anti-aircraft missile defense, the next pairs of F16s (Polish and American) arrived in the area on time, and therefore would have time to shoot down the object. Effectors, that is, the missiles that the pilots have on board, could shoot down the object if it went deeper and threatened,” he emphasized.

In turn, the vice- Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamisz stressed that the object was observed by Polish radar systems all the time. In addition, monitoring was carried out jointly with the Ukrainian side.

«If there were any signs that the Russian missile that violated the air space of Poland, was heading towards a target in Poland, it would have been shot down,” he emphasized.
