NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg noted that fighter jets will only expand Ukraine’s capabilities, but the Ukrainian military must radically change the situation on the battlefield.
«I think the fact that NATO allies supply the F-16 and also train pilots and supply weapons for the F-16 is another example of significant military support for Ukraine from NATO allies. But not a single system will change the situation on the battlefield… This is not a silver ball that can change a military conflict», — he noted.
At the same time, he emphasized that the F-16s are important because they further expand Ukraine’s capabilities.
< p>«Therefore, I welcome the fact that they are now working on these deliveries, as well as on training pilots and technical staff for the F-16», — stressed the NATO Secretary General.
At the same time, Stoltenberg noted that time plays a role in Ukraine, and it always supports all initiatives that can speed up the supply of assistance, but in the case of F aircraft -16 the situation is somewhat more complicated.
«It is worth remembering that the delivery of the F-16 takes time. And not only for the training of the aircraft themselves, but mainly because it is important to have trained pilots. But not only pilots. It is the maintenance and support of the entire system, as well as the technical resources, that will enable the F-16 to become a truly serviceable asset. This requires a lot of staff. And it takes time to prepare it,” summed up the NATO Secretary General.
We recall that it was previously reported that Ukraine faces 2 war scenarios: NATO said that they already know.
