The newly appointed interim Bulgarian Defense Minister, Atanas Zapryanov, expressed a commitment to speed up the provision of military assistance to Ukraine.

This information was reported by the Novinite publication, URA-Inform reports.

In his speech at the inauguration ceremony, Zapryanov emphasized the need for the prompt provision of two packages of military assistance to Ukraine.

«We are aimed at accelerating the process of providing assistance to Ukraine. We will consider all possibilities for providing direct military support», — he noted.

Recognizing the critical importance of quick action, Zapryanov emphasized that the interim government cannot afford a long period of inaction and must prioritize increasing the pace of its activities.

In addition , the new head of the Bulgarian defense department emphasized the need to complete a strategic audit in the defense sector and put forward plans to solve current problems in the armed forces and strengthen the country's defense capability.
