According to diplomat and former Ukrainian ambassador to the United States Valery Chaly, Russia will continue to put pressure on Ukrainian partners «peaceful negotiations».

«Now and in 2022, Russia tried to undermine the internal situation in Ukraine. Nothing has changed since the talks in Istanbul in 2022, at the beginning of the invasion. However, it seems to me that Russia feels what we do not see. They really have serious problems, and they are starting to test the situation for possible negotiations and agreements,” Chaly said.
The Ukrainian diplomat noted that the ideas of «peace negotiations» may become one of the ways Russia uses to destabilize the situation in Ukraine. Chaly believes that the war in Ukraine may end not with peaceful negotiations, but with results on the battlefield.
«I think that everything that could be discussed and negotiated with Russia can be forgotten. Russia only understands forceful methods. Russia will probably continue to talk about negotiations to put pressure on Ukraine from its partners. However, I believe that this war will not end with any agreements. This stage of the long-term Russian-Ukrainian war, which could last for decades, will end without agreements. It may end with something that will be recorded on the battlefield», he concluded.
