The Federal State of Hesse in Germany is ready to support the defense capability of Ukraine. Therefore, it can help her return men who fled abroad.
This information was reported by Der Tagesspiegel, reports URA-Inform.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of the federal state of Hesse, Roman Pozek, said that in general all of Germany should help Kyiv with recruiting personnel for the army. Such assistance may include various measures.
For example, Germany should not issue Ukrainians with its own documents instead of national ones. After Ukraine stopped providing consular services to Ukrainians liable for military service, Pozek “sees no chance” for these people to receive alternative documents in Germany.
“This could also include our assistance in ensuring that Ukraine can attract men who have fled abroad but can be recruited in war,” — the politician said.
He also added that it is important to support the defense capability of Ukraine. At the same time, Germany wants to remain a safe haven. Pozek called it a “dilemma.” The federal states and the Federal Ministry of the Interior want to discuss this issue on May 7.
We recall that it was previously reported that fines for evaders will increase sharply: what will they be under the new law.
