For the first time, military exercises will be held in Lithuania, during which missiles from HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems will be launched.

This information was reported by LRT, URA-Inform reports.

Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasciunas said that Vilnius expects this to deter Moscow from military aggression against the country.

It is known that several HIMARS missiles will be fired from the Kairiai test site 10 kilometers out to sea. The minister emphasized that this is an important factor in deterring the aggressor, which shows the combat power of Lithuania and the North Atlantic Alliance.

“I think that's a factor that also shows some positive changes in the understanding that inaction is not de-escalation. Just the opposite — the east may understand this as an opportunity to act», — he said.

This will be the first time that Lithuania will fire this multiple rocket launcher system into the Baltic Sea. Vilnius wishes to integrate HIMARS systems in coordination with NATO allies, especially neighboring countries — Estonia, Latvia and Poland.

“This is a solution for using HIMARS systems, I I would say it was adopted relatively recently. We can say that this is an additional factor to the previously planned exercise scenario. This is an innovation that sends a clear signal», — the minister added.

We recall that it was previously reported that the Kremlin is preparing special attacks on Ukraine’s allies: it is known about a plan to disrupt assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
