According to Lennox Lewis, the former absolute world champion, Alexander Usik should seriously prepare for the upcoming fight against Tyson Fury for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. Lewis is confident that Fury will no longer make the mistakes made in previous fights and will enter the ring well prepared.
URA-Inform reports this, citing talk Sport Boxing.
“Tyson Fury — This is a tough opponent for anyone. He has unpredictability, maneuvers well and attacks from different sides. It takes time and experience to understand his tactics. Plus, his height — this is an additional complication. Fighting an opponent who is 2.06 m tall is not an easy task.
Usyk will not face the Fury he was before, but an extremely focused opponent. He won’t get a fat and inexperienced Fury, but will go up against a fighter who is focused and ready to win,” — Lewis noted.
Regarding the fight with Francis Ngannou, which became unexpectedly difficult for Fury, Lewis noted:
“This fight was a signal for Fury. He realized that he needed to take every opponent seriously. Now he is focused and ready to fight.
Fury must play to his strengths, be unpredictable and attack aggressively. He needs to act according to his own style, which he knows well. He has experience fighting opponents of varying degrees of difficulty, and he just needs to combine all his skills.”
Usik’s fight with Fury is scheduled for May 18 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
