On Saturday, May 18, a new law on mobilization comes into force.
This information was reported by Tsn, URA-Inform reports.
During mobilization in Ukraine, men who ignore subpoenas may not only be fined. According to MP and member of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Irina Friz, citizens can also face criminal liability. She noted that there is a gradual application of fines.
«First, an administrative fine is imposed. If the violator does not pay it, then the person liable for military service may be issued a second fine greater than the previous one. For individuals we are talking about amounts from 17 thousand UAH. up to 25 thousand hryvnia. This means that the fine was imposed for violation of records. If the violator does not pay either the first fine or the second, and does not appear to update his credentials after paying the fine, then he falls under criminal liability for violating the law on mobilization «, – the people's deputy explained.
Summarizing, Irina Friz noted:
«That is, this is an article for evasion, and not a violation of military records. And it is precisely for this reason that the article in the current legislation was not changed – it is expected from 3 to 5 years of imprisonment for evading mobilization during martial law.
