According to information from Yasno CEO Sergei Kovalenko, new emergency power outages are possible in Kiev during the day, which is associated with the general situation in the energy system.
URA-Inform reports this, citing the telethon.
He emphasized that for a week already the Ukrainian industry has been limiting the use of electricity, and yesterday’s and today’s outages did not affect only residents of the capital, but also other regions of the country.
According to him, about 10% of Kyiv residents felt the consequences of the shutdowns. Although emergency measures for the population have been temporarily lifted, they continue to apply to industrial enterprises. However, the situation may change during the day, which could lead to new outages.
Energy experts explained that the reason for the restrictions was an increase in electricity consumption amid cold weather. Despite the fact that the outages were short-lived, citizens are urged to be economical, as the situation could worsen.
