As it turned out, the above agreements include measures aimed at increasing sanctions pressure on Russia, supporting Ukraine's integration into the European Union and NATO, as well as strengthening the country's defense potential.
Zelensky spoke in detail about the key elements of the new agreements, which include:
- support for sanctions against Russia: both agreements provide for the continuation and strengthening of sanctions pressure on Russia. This is necessary to deter aggression and reduce its ability to continue military operations against Ukraine;
- support for accession to the EU and NATO: the agreements contain clear support for Ukraine's aspirations to become a full member of the European Union and NATO. This is an important step towards Ukraine's integration into Western security and economic structures;
- defense support: the agreements outline measures to ensure Ukraine's defense, including support for its armed forces and civilians. This includes the supply of weapons, technical assistance, and other necessary resources to strengthen the country's defense;
- reconstruction and development: the agreements also aim to support the restoration of damaged infrastructure and the development of the country as a whole. This includes financial assistance, investment, and technical support for the restoration of the economy and social sphere.
Zelensky's announcement of new security agreements in Washington was an important step in strengthening international support for Ukraine. These agreements not only strengthen the country's defense, but also contribute to its integration into European and international structures.
