When can real negotiations begin between Ukraine and the Russian Federation: a political scientist shared his forecast

Political scientist Kirill Sazonov expressed his opinion on the possible time for the start of negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

This information was reported by Dialog, reports URA-Inform.

«We are afraid that Trump will win in the United States, but at the same time we see the indecisiveness of the Biden administration. I don’t want to get involved in American politics, but I don’t know if the situation could get worse than it is now. Yes, of course, negotiations are ongoing. Most likely, there will be a summit in Saudi Arabia in the fall, but it is unlikely that anything concrete will be achieved there. I do not believe in this. I believe that after the US elections in 2025 in the winter, real changes, real negotiations will begin, perhaps on different terms. “I wouldn’t expect anything before winter,” he predicted.

Sazonov also explained why Ukraine should not agree to a truce at the moment:

«There are people who are used to being photographed at resorts, being photographed while shopping, and this war does not fit into their reality. This is true. I know and understand this, but they do not understand how much this surrender will cost us. Yes, fighting is hard. Yes, we are suffering losses, but surrender will not make us happy and calm. Peace at any price is not peace, it is a truce. There are no guarantees that now we will agree to Russia’s conditions, and in six months or a year they will not start a new war.

Recall that it was previously reported who can avoid a fine for not updating data until July 16: TCC responded.
