Why suddenly “martyrs” began to fly into Belarus: what signal can Lukashenko send to the Russian Federation

In recent days, Russian kamikaze drones “Shahed” allegedly flew into Belarusian airspace four times.

This information is reported by Charter97.org, URA-Inform reports.

Ukrainian experts offer several such versions. Thus, the head of the Center for Military Legal Studies, Alexander Musienko, suggests that Russia may experiment with these drones, choosing routes through Belarus in order to avoid opposition from mobile groups capable of shooting down drones over the Zhytomyr region.

Military expert Pavel Narozhny believes this could be the result of Ukrainian electronic warfare (EW) systems that either jam drones' GPS signals or transmit false signals, causing them to fly in unexpected directions. It should be noted that some drones penetrated Belarusian airspace after they were in Ukrainian airspace.

Some commentators also do not exclude political motives: perhaps Russia wants to drag Belarus into the conflict, creating a casus belli on its territory .

It is also possible that Moscow is thus sending a signal to Minsk about its subordinate position. Recently, Lukashenko has been showing too many peaceful intentions, hinting at possible separate agreements with Ukraine and sending signals to the West. In this way, Moscow is demonstrating who really controls the skies of Belarus.

It is noted that these drone incidents may lead to the Ukrainians – as some of their representatives have already stated – starting to use Belarusian airspace for their drones aimed at Russian facilities. This could significantly aggravate the situation, and the consequences could be serious.

Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus also increase the risks for the country, since it could become a target in the event of adventurous actions by the Kremlin.

Thus, while Lukashenko portrays a threat from Ukraine and Poland, the real danger for Belarusians comes from his ally – Russia. Recall that earlier it was reported that robots will fight on the front: the Ministry of Defense spoke about innovations in the Ukrainian army (photo).
