Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky expressed the opinion that the war in Ukraine can end through diplomatic efforts.

He said that if the international community can force Russia to actually sit down at the negotiating table. According to him, there is hope that the active phase of the conflict could end before the end of the year.
Zelensky recalled that last month the Global Peace Summit on the war in Ukraine was held in Switzerland, and noted that Russia, which did not participate at the first summit, should be invited to the second, scheduled for November.
Zelensky stressed that the international community must put pressure on Moscow to convince it to start negotiations and consider ending the war. He made this statement during the plenary session of the IV Summit of the European Political Community, identifying two key factors that could lead to an end to the war and force President Putin to agree to peace negotiations on Ukraine's terms.
«We can steer this war to its just conclusion by the power of our weapons and our diplomacy, and we must not fear these possibilities . The more effective our air defense is, the more helpless Putin will be. The fewer restrictions we have on the use of effective weapons, the more actively Russia will strive for peace,” Zelensky said.
