Olympics in Paris: schedule of games and where to watch

The Olympic Games in Paris are the main sporting event of the summer of 2024. The honor of Ukraine will be defended on its grounds by 140 athletes competing in 23 sports.

This information was reported by Suspilne, reports URA-Inform.

The main and interesting events of the 2024 Olympics will be shown live on the Public TV channels.

So, the schedule of the Games by day looks like this:

Wednesday, July 24

20:00. Football: Ukraine vs. Iraq

The Olympic football tournament will start even before the official start. Two days before the opening ceremony, the Ukrainian men's football team will play its first ever match at the Olympics.

Friday, July 26

20:30. The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games

A large-scale event that the organizers of the competition in France are trying to make even unforgettable – for the first time the opening ceremony will take place not at the stadium, but along the entire city. Teams must travel along the Seine River in boats.

Saturday, July 27

12 o'clock. Diving: 3 meters, synchronized, women, final

16:30. Artistic gymnastics: qualification, men

18:00. Football: Ukraine – Morocco.

20:50. Fencing: women, epee (potentially)

A busy starting day of competition. The first final at the Olympics in Paris with the participation of Ukraine was synchronized diving from a 3-meter springboard, where only eight teams and Ukrainians were among them.

Also on the first day of competition it will be determined which finals Ukrainian gymnasts will qualify for. And the Ukrainian national football team will play its second match at the Olympics. The evening session will host the first fencing finals – three Ukrainian women who will compete in Paris could potentially get there.

Sunday, July 28

13:00 .Shooting: 10 meters, women (potentially)

Elena Kostevich is a four-time Olympic medalist competing in the sixth Games of her career. Twice she won medals in air pistol shooting from 10 meters. In Paris, Kostevich will compete in three disciplines, and shooting from 10 meters is the first of them. Qualifying will take place on Saturday, July 27. In case of reaching the final, it will open the second competition day.

Monday, July 29

12 o'clock. Diving: 10 meters, synchronized, men

17:00. Judo: 57 kg, Daria Bilodid (potentially)

18:30. Artistic gymnastics: team, final

20:00. Fencing: women, saber (potentially)

Another busy day for Ukraine. It will open with the final of diving from a 10-meter tower. At the last two world championships, Ukrainians (Alexei Sereda and Kirill Bolyukh) were on the podium.

Next on the program of the day is the team all-around final in men's artistic gymnastics, where Ukraine must still qualify. Also on this day, winners of past Olympics as part of Ukraine will compete – judoist Daria Bilodid (the final block will start at 17:00) and fencer Olga Kharlan (the final block will start at 20:00).

Tuesday, July 30

10:30. Shooting: team, 10 meters, pistol (potentially)

14:30. Fencing: women, epee, team

18:30. Football: Ukraine — Argentina

21:30. Evening swimming session

The Ukrainian football team will complete its performance in the group stage of the 2024 Olympics with a match against Argentina. In addition, several more team performances may take place for the Ukrainians – in pistol shooting, the team, if they qualify, will compete for medals. And also the women's epee team will begin performances from the 1/4 finals at 14.30.

The evening swimming session could potentially feature the first final with the participation of Mikhail Romanchuk, a two-time medalist at Tokyo 2020.

Wednesday, July 31

12 o'clock. Diving: 10 meters, women, synchronized

13:14. Rowing: women's quadruple sculls, final

18:30. Artistic gymnastics: men, individual all-around

Another final discipline for Ukraine in synchronized diving, as well as potential finals in academic rowing (the Ukrainians are European vice-champions in this discipline) and in the men's all-around in artistic gymnastics.

Thursday, August 1

10:20. Athletics: women's race walking

17:00. Judo: 78 kg, Yelizaveta Litvinenko (potentially)

21:30. Evening swimming session

An important day for Ukraine in swimming: a potential final in the 200m backstroke with Oleksandr Zheltyakov (European champion and Ukrainian record holder), as well as a semi-final in the 50m freestyle (Vladislav Bukhov – world champion).

The competitive athletics program will also begin – the first finals in race walking. And World Championship medalist Elizaveta Litvinenko will compete in judo.

Friday, August 2

10:30. Archery, mixed team

11:10. Morning session of athletics: high jump, hammer throw

16:00 or 22:00. Football, quarter-finals

21:30. Swimming: 50 m, Bukhov (potentially)

The qualification with Yaroslava Mahuchikh will take place in the morning session on August 2. Also on this day, Ukrainian archers will compete in a team, and Vladislav Bukhov may start in the 50-meter freestyle final.

The Ukrainian national football team, if it passes the group stage, will also play its quarterfinal match on August 2.

Saturday, August 3

14:00. Fencing: sabre, women, team

21:20. Athletics: triple jump, Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk (potentially)

The last start for Ukrainian fencers – the women's saber team will compete for a medal at the 2024 Olympics. The competition starts at 2 p.m., and the final block will begin at 8 p.m. Kiev time.

Marina Bekh-Romanchuk can hold her only final in Paris – the triple jump final will take place on August 3.

Sunday, August 4

19:36. Swimming: 1,500 meters, Mikhail Romanchuk (potentially)

20:50. Athletics: high jump, women's final

21:30. Athletics: men's hammer throw, final (potentially)

The women's high jump final – and three Ukrainians can qualify for it at once, including the world ranking leader and world record holder Yaroslava Maguchikh.

Also on this day, Mikhail Kokhan (Euro hammer throw medalist) and Mikhail Romanchuk (2020 Olympic medalist) in the 1500-meter freestyle can compete in the finals.

Monday, August 5

12:45. Artistic gymnastics: finals

The last day of the competition in artistic gymnastics – there will be four finals, including men's parallel bars (Ilya Kovtun is the European champion) and high bar.

Tuesday, August 6

19:15. Wrestling: women up to 50 kg and up to 68 kg

On the first day of the finals, Tatyana Rizhko may compete in the up to 68 kg weight class, and Oksana Livach will also begin her performance – up to 50 kg. The evening session may feature Livach's semi-final, as well as Rizhko's decisive clashes.

Wednesday, July 7

08:30. Athletics: race walking, team

11:05. Athletics: high jump, men's qualifying

19:15. Wrestling: women up to 50 kg, Greco-Roman up to 67 kg and 87 kg

23:51. Boxing: 80 kg, Alexander Khizhnyak, final (potentially)

Three Ukrainian high jumpers will compete to reach the finals, and this day will begin with the finals in the team marathon in race walking. In the evening session, Tokyo 2020 medalists Zhan Belenyuk and Parviz Nasibov – Greco-Roman wrestling will potentially compete for access to the finals.

Thursday, July 8

14:20. Kayaking and canoeing: finals

16:00. Weightlifting: women, 59 kg, Kamila Konotop

19:15. Wrestling: Greco-Roman up to 67 kg and 87 kg, women up to 57 kg

21:25. Athletics: Javelin throw, Arthur Felfner (potentially)

Ukraine's only performance in weightlifting – Kamila Konotop will compete for a medal. Also on August 8, the first finals in kayaking and canoeing will be held (in particular, Lyudmila Luzan and Anastasia Rybachok will compete in doubles). And in wrestling, Belenyuk and Nasibov can end their performances with finals.

Friday, August 9

11:00. Rhythmic gymnastics: all-around, final

13:40. Kayaking and canoeing: finals

19:15. Wrestling: women up to 57 kg and 62 kg

The final of the individual all-around in rhythmic gymnastics, the second day of the finals in rowing, as well as the start in the wrestling of Tokyo 2020 medalist Irina Kolyadenko — all this on August 9.

Saturday, August 10

15:00. Rhythmic gymnastics: team, final (potentially)

19:15. Wrestling: women up to 62 kg

20:10. Athletics: men's high jump, final (potentially)

20:30. Artistic swimming: duet, random program

A busy penultimate day for Ukraine – the final of the men's high jump in athletics, the fight with Irina Kolyadenko, artistic swimming and the end of performances in duets. And also the final of rhythmic gymnastics.

Sunday, August 11

22:00. Closing ceremony

The 2024 Olympic Games will end with a grand ceremony, which will begin at 22:00 Kyiv time and last about two hours.
