How Trump can end the war in Ukraine with one call: Klimkin explained what he is capable of

US presidential candidate Donald Trump said that he can end any war with one phone call.

This information was reported by Obozrevatel, reports URA-Inform.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in 2014-2019, Pavel Klimkin, noted that Trump’s statement has elements of election PR, but he is really ready for strong and decisive actions in the context of the war in Ukraine. At the same time, it is still unclear how exactly Trump envisions the end of the war

«Trump really wants to do this. This is completely obvious. He repeats this all the time. And if he becomes president, he will be reminded of this almost every day. This is not a matter of one phone call. Of course, this is part of the election rhetoric. But in a figurative sense, Trump says that he is ready for strong and decisive actions,” the diplomat emphasized.

According to Klimkin, Trump has many opportunities to raise the stakes and resolve the Ukraine issue from a position of strength. In particular, he can threaten Russia with new sanctions, as well as those who help the Putin regime circumvent them. He can supply more new weapons to Ukraine and the like.

« He has the ability to raise the stakes. Whether he will do this, if so, how and in what sequence depends on him and his administration. In the event that he is elected», — noted the diplomat.

According to his estimates, Trump does not yet have a clear plan for ending the war in Ukraine. But he will act like a businessman who knows “that there are nuances, there are trade-offs, etc.”

«That is, from the very beginning he does not prescribe conditions for himself. He says: I will do it. And under what conditions? We will trade hard. The important thing is that he is ready to conduct tough trade,” the diplomat summed up.

We recall that it was previously reported that Trump will force Zelensky to agree to peace – Time explained how the candidate will act.
