How power outage schedules are formed: DTEK explains

DTEK noted that power outages for consumers are needed to prevent a systemic accident in the country’s energy system.

< p>This information was reported by the press service of DTEK, reports URA-Inform.

They emphasized that if the lights are not turned off according to schedule, this will lead to an emergency situation, the consequences of which will be difficult to predict. According to the press service of DTEK, whether there will be outages or not is determined by the state company “Ukrenergo”.

Every evening, the company's dispatcher creates an electricity balance for the next day. He controls: how much, where, which power plant will produce electricity. How much will be imported and how much electricity will be consumed by industry and the population,” the report says.

DTEK adds that the dispatcher takes into account whether there are accidents in the network or damaged equipment that limits the transmission of electricity to different regions of Ukraine. Based on relevant data from «Ukrenergo» determines whether there is enough electricity to cover its consumption for the next day.

In the event of a shortage of electricity, the company imposes restrictions on consumers. The dispatcher issues the same restrictions for each area. Thus, based on these restrictions, electricity distribution system operators introduce outage schedules.

It is noted that the fundamental principle by which the corresponding schedules are implemented is uniformity and fairness. First, the operator allocates critical infrastructure to a separate group. We are talking about military facilities, hospitals, water utilities, etc. For such objects, shutdown is not used in any case.

In the future, the operator divides the remaining consumers into six identical queues. They are designed specifically to ensure a fair shutdown schedule. In particular, the number of queues that should be disabled is also determined by «Ukrenergo».

«This can be one, two, three or four groups at the same time if there is a large power shortage in the network. The more queues are used simultaneously, the greater the electricity shortage,” added DTEK.

We remind you that it was previously reported that there may soon be no power outages: forecast from the head of Ukrenergo.< /p>
