First scandal: South Korean swimmers leave Olympic village in protest

Six South Korean swimmers left the Olympic Village on Friday, July 26, in protest against the terrible transport.

The decision was made after two swimmers, Kim Woo-min and Hwang Sung-woo, complained about the transportation in Paris. The former lamented the lack of air conditioning, comparing the shuttle to a “sauna.”

“It's cooler outside than inside the shuttle. Usually it takes 40-45 minutes to get from the Olympic village to the pool, but today (Thursday) it took us more than an hour and a half. The windows were taped up, probably for fear of terrorist attacks. Something has to be done,” he said. Kim Woo Min.

After that, the rest of the South Korean swimmers chose to leave the Olympic Village. They will remain in their hotel until Tuesday, the day of the 4x200m freestyle relay.
