Russia threatens to deploy nuclear missiles: Ryabkov talks about “Doomsday Clock”

Deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Ryabkov stated that the “Doomsday Clock”, symbolizing the level of global tension, shows “two minutes to midnight”, which indicates a serious nuclear threat.

This information was reported by Unian , reports “URA-Inform”.

 However, according to him, this does not mean that the events are irreversible and a catastrophe is inevitable.

«This clock is now showing something like two minutes to, but that doesn't mean that the clock is irreversible and will begin to strike&#187 ;, he said.

Ryabkov also stressed that Russia is ready to deploy nuclear missiles in response to the West's actions, if necessary. According to him, Moscow is not going to make concessions to the United States of America, “if they try to impose something that is only beneficial to them”. Agreements can only be made “on a piecemeal basis”, he added.

The official also reported that a recent telephone conversation between US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin and Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov helped avoid further escalation of the conflict between the two countries.
