Now Ukrainian students in grades 5-9 will be assessed in accordance with the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education.
This information is stated on the official website of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, reports URA-Inform.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine also proposed a new form of certificate of achievement.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine approved recommendations for assessing the learning outcomes of applicants for education in accordance with the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education. The document outlines approaches to assessing the learning outcomes of students in grades 5-9, the report says.
In particular, it is determined:
— general assessment criteria (define general approaches to establishing the learning outcomes of students in grades 5-9);
— assessment criteria by educational sectors.
— the student assessment criteria will have four levels:
— initial (1–3 points);
— average (4–6 points);
— sufficient (7–9 points);
— high (10–12 points).
In addition, the document proposes a form of the Certificate of Student Achievement.
The Certificate of Achievement will consist of two parts:
1. Characteristics of educational activities – here teachers will assess the level of development of cross-cutting skills in the student at the end of the school year. This concerns understanding of what has been read, expressing one's own opinion, critical and systemic thinking, initiative, etc.
It is reported that there will be no grades in this chapter. The teacher will only determine one of the levels of development of a particular skill: “Has significant success”, “Demonstrates noticeable progress”, “Requires attention and assistance”. This part of the teacher's certificate can be filled out collegially or by the class teacher.
2. Characteristics of learning outcomes – this section will assign points for academic subjects (integrated courses) each semester and for the year. It is noted that first the teacher will assign a point for individual groups of learning outcomes defined in the State Standard of Basic Education. And only after that will he derive the overall grade for the semester.
Then the teacher will assign a grade for each of these groups of learning outcomes. As a result, the overall semester grade will be based on four grades for groups of results, and the annual grade will be based on semester grades.
Recall that earlier it was reported that Ukrzaliznytsia announced the sale of tickets for a children's carriage: how the train will operate.
