From the App Store the RuTube video hosting service, which Russian authorities are promoting as a replacement for YouTube, has disappeared.

This information was reported on the RuTube Telegram channel, URA-Inform reports.

It is noted that the App Store removed the Russian RuTube due to sanctions from the American company.

«Such removal from the App Store – ed.) is a consequence of sanctions from the American company, due to which it was “users are having difficulty accessing our services via a mobile application,” the statement said.

It is worth noting that on August 8, the YouTube video hosting service stopped opening on computers and mobile devices for users in Russia. The American service is not loading, so users cannot watch videos or leave comments.

Bloomberg previously reported that Russian authorities are restricting their citizens' access to Alphabet Inc.'s YouTube as the Kremlin prepares to block one of the last American social media sites networks still available in the country.

Recall that earlier it was reported that the Verkhovna Rada is threatening to close Telegram: what demands are being made on the messenger.
