Russia Raises Issue of Negotiations with Ukraine: Lavrov Indicates What the Kremlin Is Preparing for

Twitter LinkedIn

The Russian authorities announced the impossibility of holding negotiations with Ukraine after the recent offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov made statements that highlight the current tensions in relations between the countries.

URA-Inform reports this, citing Korrespondent.

Ushakov, commenting on the situation, said that discussion of peace negotiations is “completely inappropriate” given the background of current events. According to him, the possibility of resuming the negotiation process will directly depend on the development of events at the front, including those taking place in the Kursk region.

Lavrov confirmed this position, noting that after the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region, any talk about negotiations with Kiev are impossible.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin made it clear that after the “invasion” of Russian territory there can be no talk of negotiations,” — Lavrov emphasized.

He rejects rumors about possible contacts between Russia and Ukraine regarding negotiations.

It is also worth mentioning that Putin has been silent for a week about the situation in the Kursk region: should we expect revenge from RF?
