Russia under large-scale drone attack: Budanov reveals important details of GUR plan

On the night of the 21st On August 25, five regions of Russia, including the capital Moscow, became the targets of attacks using UAVs. According to information provided to the publication by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, the attacks were aimed at strategic facilities in Russia.

Budanov reported that Ukrainian intelligence had carried out a series of drone operations targeting a radio intelligence center and airport in Moscow, as well as a Russian air base in the Rostov region. In total, there were about 50 drones are involved.

Experts cannot yet accurately assess the extent of the damage.

Ostafyevo Airport in Moscow, which was also attacked, is used by the Russian Defense Ministry and is important for strategic communications and signals. In 2018, massive antennas were built on its territory, increasing its importance in military operations.

In addition, Budanov reported that the August 16 attack on the Savasleyka airfield in the Nizhny Novgorod region led to significant losses for the Russian army. The strike destroyed a MiG-31 Foxhound interceptor, a Kinzhal aeroballistic missile carrier, and two Il-76 Candid transport aircraft.
