President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel expressed his opinion on the need for active intervention by world powers to start the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine. According to Pavel, the conflict in Ukraine will most likely continue until both sides realize that achieving political goals through military action is becoming impossible.
In an interview with Novinky on August 21, Pavel noted that both the United States and China should play a key role in advancing the dialogue. Details about the Czech President's plan are reported by URA-Inform.
He stressed that these countries, along with other world powers, should actively promote the establishment of negotiations using political, economic and diplomatic pressure.
The Czech President also stressed the importance of the European Union as a significant economic and political force. However, he noted , that the EU, despite its power, will not be able to solve the problem on its own. To effectively influence the conflict, coordinated action with the United States and other democratic countries is necessary.
Pavel suggested that the conflict could enter a frozen phase, which can last for many years. This development will require the international community's continued attention and concerted efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution.
