On August 26, Ukraine faced one of the most powerful Russian attacks since the beginning of the war. According to a statement by President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russian troops fired more than a hundred missiles of various types and almost a hundred Shahed drones at Ukrainian territory. The attack covered most regions of the country and targeted critical civilian infrastructure.

The aftermath of the shelling was reported by URA-Inform, citing a statement by Zelensky on Facebook.

Zelensky stressed that work to eliminate the consequences of this strike is currently ongoing across the country. Particular attention is being paid to restoring the damaged energy infrastructure that was affected by missile and drone attacks. According to the president, repair crews are working around the clock, and restoring power supply is a priority.

“Like most previous strikes, this one was aimed at critical civilian infrastructure. The strike hit most of our regions – from the Kharkiv region and Kyiv to Odessa and the western regions. Unfortunately, there are casualties,” Zelensky said.

The president also reported that dozens of people were injured in the attack. All the wounded are receiving the necessary medical care. Despite the destruction and losses, Ukraine continues to actively work on restoration.

This attack once again highlights the meanness of the methods Russia uses to wage war, attacking civilian infrastructure and harming civilians. But, as Zelensky noted, Ukrainians are not broken, and all destruction will be eliminated, and life will be restored.

It is also worth mentioning that troops are approaching the northern part of Ukraine: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made an official statement.
