NBU to impose card-to-card transfer limits from October 1: what you need to know

Twitter LinkedIn

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is introducing a limit on card-to-card (P2P) transfers for individuals from October 1, limiting the amount to 150 thousand hryvnia per month. This limitation will be in effect for six months and will only affect outgoing transfers between accounts opened in different banks.

URA-Inform reports on the new rules for working with bank cards, citing the NBU website.

The new limit applies to all client accounts opened in one bank and is aimed at transfers to other individuals. However, it is important to note that this limitation does not affect volunteers whose accounts meet the criteria defined by the NBU resolution, as well as those whose monthly income from confirmed sources exceeds the amount of the established limit.

In addition, the limit does not apply to transfers between the client's own accounts in one bank, as well as to transfers of legal entities. Transactions carried out using IBAN details also remain without restrictions, which gives users more room to maneuver when carrying out financial transactions.

This decision may affect financial flows, especially for those who actively use bank transfers for various purposes. On the one hand, the innovation will help to strengthen control over large financial transactions, on the other hand, it may cause certain inconveniences for those who are accustomed to higher limits. However, the NBU continues to monitor the development of the situation and reserves the right to revise the restrictions introduced in the future.

In addition, it was previously reported that a wave of price increases is expected in the fall: it is known what prices will increase most noticeably.
