Russia is changing its shelling tactics for the worse – Shmygal spoke about the risks

For the first time since the beginning war, the Russian Federation used cluster munitions to attack Ukrainian distribution substations.

This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal during a speech at the forum “Ukraine 2024. Independence”. URA-Inform reports.

He stressed that such actions by the enemy pose a new threat to the country's energy infrastructure, which is already under constant attack.

According to Shmyhal, despite the intensity of the shelling, the losses were minimal.

The massive attack that took place on August 26 affected several regions of Ukraine. On the morning of that day, explosions were heard throughout the country, which were the result of another massive attack by Russia. The enemy used both missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, with the aim of to launch another attack on Ukraine's energy facilities.

A total of 127 missiles and 109 drones were launched at Ukraine. However, due to the high efficiency of the Ukrainian air defense, 201 air targets were destroyed. The head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Rustem Umerov, stated that the country is preparing a response to these aggressive actions by Russia, and assured that Ukraine will not remain in debt.

It is worth noting that it is already known how long Ukraine will have to restore its energy sector after the shelling.
