Former US President Donald Trump, seeking to return to the post of head of state, has announced his intention to create a “Space National Guard” if he is elected for a second term.

Trump emphasized that one of his most significant achievements in his first term was the establishment of the Space Force, a new branch of the military created for the first time in more than seven decades.

Now that the Space Force has been successfully are functioning, he expressed agreement with the proposal of the military leadership on the need to create a “Space National Guard”. This new formation is intended to be a key reserve that will support and enhance the combat power of the U.S. Space Force.

The creation of the U.S. Space Force, initiated by Trump, became a reality on December 20, 2019.

Now he intends to go further by strengthening the country's defense in space through a new structure that he believes will significantly enhance the United States' national security and operational capabilities in the face of growing competition in the space domain.
