Italy does not intend allow Ukraine to strike at Russian territory using the transferred weapons, and its position on this issue remains unchanged.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing Corriere Della Sera.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani voiced the corresponding position before the meeting of the heads of the foreign policy departments of the EU countries.
Tajani noted that the decision on whether to allow Ukraine to use the provided weapons to attack Russia is taken by each country individually. Italy , in particular, provided mainly defensive weapons. At the moment, it is planned to transfer the SAMP/T air defense system, which, according to him, “is not intended for use on Russian territory.”
Apparently, this is Italy's position will not interfere with the new negotiating plan for Ukraine.
“We emphasize that Italy and NATO are not at war with Russia and we will not fight with it. Therefore, the position here is this: our weapons should be used exclusively on the territory of Ukraine . “It is up to other countries to decide what to do,” Tajani said.
It is also worth noting that the US is one step away from a fateful decision on the Kursk region.
