According to the WSJ's sources, the US National Security Council discussed a proposal to send civilian specialists to Ukraine to service the supplied weapons. However, intelligence officials and other experts expressed concerns about such a move, considering it too risky.

“US intelligence agencies have expressed concerns about possible Russian attacks on US contractors in Ukraine,” one US official said.

WSJ sources also stressed that the US is counting on the active participation of European allies in providing technical support and maintenance for F-16 fighters. Some high-ranking officials in the Pentagon have called for sending specialists to Ukraine. However, President Joe Biden and his National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan have expressed serious concerns about the lack of a clear plan of action by the US Department of Defense in the event of an attack on these specialists by Russia.

It is also worth recalling that the loss of F- 16 was a blow to Ukraine: ISW spoke about the consequences.
