On the night of September 1, Russian occupation forces launched an attack on Ukraine using drones and an Iskander-M missile. The main targets of the attack were agricultural and logistics facilities, in particular grain storage facilities in the Nikolaev and Sumy regions.

The results of the operation were reported by URA-Inform, citing the Ukrainian Air Force Telegram.

On the night of August 31 to September 1, the enemy launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Kursk region of Russia and used 11 Shahed-131/136 attack drones launched from Cape Chauda in Crimea. The main strikes targeted grain storage facilities and logistics routes, indicating a deliberate attempt to harm Ukrainian agriculture and the country's food security.

The head of the Mykolaiv OVA, Vitaly Kim, reported that Russian drones targeted the Galitsyniv community in the Mykolaiv region. As a result of the attack, a grain storage facility caught fire in the village of Limany. Fortunately, the fire was quickly extinguished by local firefighters, and there were no casualties.

The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces (AD) demonstrated high efficiency in repelling the attack. Anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 8 of 11 Shahed attack drones. The air defense actions covered the territories of Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson, Kirovograd and Dnipropetrovsk regions, which helped minimize the consequences of the attack.

It is also worth noting that the Russian Federation had previously deployed a missile carrier to the Black Sea.
