In recent days, Russian troops have stepped up their offensive on the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, advancing faster than before. According to intelligence from the British Ministry of Defense, over the past week, Russian forces have come within ten kilometers of the city.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing the social network X of the British Ministry of Defense.
British intelligence suggests that the pace of advance will slow down as soon as Russian troops enter the territory of Pokrovsk.
Pokrovsk is an important logistics hub in eastern Ukraine. The loss of the city could complicate and reroute existing Ukrainian supply lines, making its capture a priority target for Russian forces. Despite this, the operational tempo of combat on other fronts in eastern and southern Ukraine remains low, and territorial control has not changed significantly.
The situation around Pokrovsk remains dire today. For several weeks now, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been repelling numerous attacks by the enemy, who continue to try to capture the city.
