Recent report from the American The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports that Ukrainian forces have made significant gains in the southeast of Donetsk Oblast. According to the data provided, Ukrainian soldiers have managed to restore their positions in the area of the southwestern part of Novogrodovka, which is located southeast of Pokrovsk.

ISW analysts emphasize that this success was achieved despite the ongoing offensive of Russian troops in the area. Video footage from geolocation, published on September 2, confirm the information about the restoration of Ukrainian positions.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian occupiers concentrated their attacks in the direction of Novogrodovka. Earlier, the media predicted that Russian forces could advance to Pokrovsk by mid-September, but they probably won't be able to capture it.
