New Ukrainian soldiers are actively preparing for the upcoming military action, trying to contain the offensive from Moscow. A recent BBC report from a secret training ground in the Chernihiv region showed how these soldiers are training.

The publication notes that one of the most surprising aspects is the age of the recruits, many of whom look like people in their 40s and 50s. For example, Rostislav, who worked as a driver just a month ago, is now preparing for possible service in the Kursk region. He believes that the Ukrainian counteroffensive is a necessary step.
“We have tolerated their presence on our land for too long. We must do something, otherwise we will be turned into slaves,” he said.
Maxim, a 30-year-old construction worker who looks to be the youngest among the soldiers, stressed the importance of intensive training. According to him, regular training is necessary to be prepared for real combat conditions.
“The more we train, the better prepared we will be on the front lines. We are ready to defend our land, be it Donbass or Kursk Oblast,” he added.
A commander with the call sign “Storm” from the 22nd Mechanized Brigade, the first to enter Kursk Oblast, refused to make predictions about the length of his units' stay on Russian territory. He said that the troops would remain there as long as necessary.
“If the order to move on comes, we can get to Moscow and show what real Cossacks from Ukraine are,” he emphasized.
