Donald Trump, former US President and presidential candidate in the upcoming elections, made a number of loud statements in a recent interview on Lex Friedman's podcast.

This information was reported by “URA-Inform” with reference to the above-mentioned podcast.

“This war should never have happened. But it did. It's much harder to compromise now than it was at the beginning. Millions of people have lost their lives, and that number will rise,” the US presidential candidate said at the beginning.

According to him, the number of deaths on both sides of the front will exceed all expectations. Moreover, he assures that if you look at the scale of destruction throughout Ukraine, their number will be even greater.

“They are lying when they voice such numbers. They try to make them not very significant. Massive buildings, 2 blocks long, were destroyed. And they say that only 1 person was slightly injured. This is a lie. Many people were killed. And those who were in those buildings had no chance of survival. As soon as everything started to collapse, it was hopeless to save themselves,” he added.

Thus, in his speech, he accused the Ukrainian authorities of concealing the real scale of human losses during the current conflict and expressed his vision of ways to end the war.

Trump also pointed out that the problem is not only in the physical destruction, but also in how the Ukrainian authorities present the picture of what is happening, deliberately understating the scale of the catastrophe. According to him, this creates a false impression of the real losses and does not contribute to the speedy achievement of peace.

Against this background, Putin recently said in a conversation with children that Ukraine itself would want to enter the negotiating track with the Kremlin.
