Expert of the Institute of Energy Strategies Yuriy Korolchuk considers various scenarios for the development of the situation in the energy sector. sector. According to an optimistic forecast, if 8-9 nuclear power plant units operate stably and the winter is mild, it will be possible to restore about 3 GW of the 6 GW of damaged capacity. This will reduce the outage time to 12 hours per day.

In a pessimistic scenario, with the restoration of only 2,000 megawatts of power, 6-7 operating nuclear power units and a cold winter, the system may encounter serious problems. In the most unfavorable case , if attacks on energy infrastructure continue, citizens will have to do without electricity and heating for up to 20 hours a day.
