Yesterday, On September 17, the absolute world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk was detained at the Krakow airport. The famous Ukrainian boxer was heading to Spain to participate in a training camp, but the situation at the airport unexpectedly led to his detention. As it turned out later, the incident was caused by a misunderstanding with the Polish border service.

This was reported by URA-Inform, citing Przeglad Sportowy.

According to Polish promoter Andrzej Wasilewski, citing Usyk's manager, Alexander Krasyuk, the problem arose when the service employees refused to let Usyk's friend board the plane.

“The champion decided that he would not fly without his friend, so both were detained,” Vasilevsky explained.

This situation was not connected with Usyk himself, but with his friend, who, according to the promoter, was detained for no apparent reason, despite having all the documents.

Vasilevsky emphasized that Usyk always shows respect for the law and behaves with dignity:

“I know Alexander personally. He is a top athlete, elegant and always follows the rules.”

Usyk himself quickly commented on the incident, calling it a simple misunderstanding that was quickly resolved.

We also recall that Usyk answered how hard he hits Fury: The statement surprised many.
