How the cost of renting housing differs in different regions of Ukraine: latest statistics

In August 2024 the average cost of renting a one-room apartment in Ukraine was UAH 6,962, up 0.7% compared to July. Since the beginning of the year, rent has increased by 5.4%.

This was reported by the State Statistics Service, which is referred to by “URA-Inform”.

The highest rental rates are observed in the Zakarpattia region, where the average price is 11,738 hryvnia, although there was a decrease of 7.8%. The Lviv region ranks second with a price of 10 614 hryvnia, which is also a decrease of 10%. The third position is occupied by the Rivne region, where rent has increased by 36.6% and is UAH 9,830.

In Kyiv, rent for one-room apartments has increased by 4.8%, reaching UAH 9,142, which puts the capital in fourth place among the regions with the highest rental prices.

The lowest rental prices for housing were recorded in the Kherson region – 2,831 UAH, Sumy region – 3,289 UAH and Mykolaiv region – 3,597 UAH. The increase in rental prices was the most is noticeable in the western and central regions of Ukraine. This is primarily due to the war.
