According to the results of a survey by the research group Extreme Scan, almost half of Russians (49%) would support the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory and peace talks, even if this meant abandoning President Vladimir Putin's goals. This is the highest level of support for such a decision since the start of the full-scale conflict.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing Korrespondent.
It is noteworthy that only 33% of respondents would not approve of ending military action without fully implementing the Kremlin's goals. The majority of respondents (63%) expressed a desire for a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine to be concluded within the next year based on mutual concessions. When Russians were offered a choice between peace and a new wave of mobilization, 49% would prefer peace, while only 29% would support mobilization.
Also, 30% of survey participants directly stated their unwillingness to participate in military action. This indicates a significant reluctance of the population to personally become involved in a military conflict.
The study was conducted from September 10 to 17 and included 800 respondents selected using a stratified random sample. The margin of error is 3.45%, which confirms the reliability of the data.
Meanwhile, in another part of the surveys it was revealed that more than a third of Russians consider the use of nuclear weapons in a conflict with Ukraine possible, which raises serious concerns in the international arena.
It is worth recalling that the Russian Federation is wary: Ukraine may receive a new type of powerful weapon from the United States.
