The war in Ukraine will not end as many think: the Czech president shared his forecast

President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel spoke about a possible scenario after the end of the war in Ukraine, noting that some territories may remain under Russian control for a certain period of time. This statement outraged many Ukrainians.

The Czech President stressed the importance of a realistic approach to the issue of returning the occupied territories. According to this politician, at the moment, most likely, the Russian Federation will be able to retain part of the occupied territories for some time. He added that this situation could drag on for years, but the war needs to be ended quickly.

“It is most likely that the war will end before Ukraine can regain all of its territories,” — the Czech President emphasized.

Pavel also noted that it is currently impossible to speak with certainty about the complete defeat of one of the parties.

“The end of the war will most likely be the result of a compromise between Ukraine and Russia” , he added, describing possible options for the development of the conflict.

The Czech President also previously stated that the end of the war will not be quick, since both sides continue to fight for their goals and neither has yet achieved decisive success.

Against this background, it is worth recalling that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared his forecast for the end of the war.
