At a meeting of the UN Security Council, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement that caused alarm in the international community.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the United Nations.

Russian occupation forces may attack Ukrainian nuclear power plants this fall, which turns critical infrastructure facilities into potential targets for the aggressor.

During his speech, the head of state emphasized that Russia's actions are contrary to international norms and rules, and called on world leaders to take active action.

«The Russian dictator has violated a huge number of international obligations and norms. This man will not stop himself. Russia can only be forced to peace,» Zelensky noted, emphasizing that further inaction could lead to catastrophic consequences.

Zelensky warned that, against the backdrop of the approaching winter, Russia will again try to destroy the Ukrainian energy system. However, this time the aggressor's methods may be even more destructive and inhumane.

«They are ready to target our nuclear power plants – three nuclear power plants. We have such information and evidence of this,» the president said.

Moreover, it was previously reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces already have a critical situation on the Eastern Front.
