Reduction issue mobilization age has once again found itself at the center of political discussions in Ukraine against the backdrop of a possible strengthening of mobilization measures in the Russian Federation.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the Politics of the Country telegram channel.

The Secretary of the Defense Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Roman Kostenko, representing the “Voice” faction, noted that the Ukrainian government will probably have to consider changes to the mobilization system in response to potential challenges associated with a new wave of mobilization in the Russian Federation.

< p>According to Kostenko's statements, lowering the mobilization age could be a strategically justified step for Ukraine if the geopolitical situation and military-political risks in the region continue to worsen.

In his opinion, the optimal solution could be to revise the age range of those mobilized citizens between 20 and 50 years of age. This age range, according to the politician, is the most suitable for ensuring the necessary level of training and combat effectiveness of military personnel.

Current discussions regarding a possible change in the age criteria for mobilization in Ukraine arise against the backdrop of a very long war and increased pressure from the Russian Federation.

It was also reported that Russia already has alarming plans for the Ukrainian nuclear power plant this fall.
