In Ukraine they are working on a pension reform, so in the future they may calculate the pension amount in a new way.

This information was reported by Rbc, quoted by URA-Inform.

Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych said that they plan to count the corresponding points for the number of years of insurance experience.

“As part of the pension reform, we want to make changes that would show a very simple mechanism for calculating and paying pensions,” she noted.

Zholnovich emphasized that the basis for calculating pensions should be the number of years a person worked and the amount of contributions to the insurance system.

“And we include these two criteria in the points that will be summed up for each month. And each person, upon retirement, will have a set of points that will be converted into a percentage of the average salary in Ukraine,” the minister explained.

According to her, this will be “the fairest format for calculating pensions,” which will contribute to the accumulation of solidarity contributions to the insurance system.

“This is the most relevant category, which shows the reality of funds. The fact that we all, as Ukrainians, earn within the average salary is the amount we live on in a given year,” Zholnovich summed up.

It was also reported earlier that potatoes are rapidly becoming more expensive in Ukraine: what prices has the excitement led to?
